Acupuncture, Cupping and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Community style acupuncture treatment involves sitting in a recliner with your socks and shoes off and pant legs pulled up or on a table.  Other people will be in the same large room in their personal reclining chair getting an acupuncture treatment of their own.

Sterile fine acupuncture needles will be inserted into your skin at certain locations to aid your bodies own ability to heal itself with acupuncture needles.  Some needles may be felt others not so much or at all.

Acupuncture sensations can be tingling, numb-ish, achy, heavy, dull, itchy, or nothing at all.

Acupuncture is on fourteen meridians that have a direct relationship with the functions of your body. Three meridians are on the palmer/bottom side and the dorsal/top side of your hand that runs up and down. Three are on the inside of your foot running up and Three on the top, the side and the back of the legs running down.  In one on the center of your body and on the center of your back,  both running up ending at the mouth.

Acupuncture is great for pain management, chronic pain management, back and neck pain management, Fibromyalgia, stress, anxiety, fatigue, addictions, digestive issues from beginning to end, weight loss, asthma,  allergies especially affecting smaller parts of the body like ears, nose, and eyes.

Acupuncture has awesome relief of pain to the body, over today’s world of over-prescribed and created: Opioid Use Disorder. Opioid use has taken over all ages of young and old. It fogs the brain and doesn’t heal the pain. If you need a change keep it simple and have a Happy Hour treatment let acupuncture show you relief.

My goal is to provide Quality Affordable Community Acupuncture to the best of my ability in helping people to be feeling the best they can in their body.

I use what is called patent formulas. They are classic herbal formulas to treat colds, sore throats, food poisoning, hangovers, digestive disorders and more illnesses. I use a mixture of capsules or herbal powders to be mixed with water and drank as a medicinal tea.

Did you watch the Olympic Swimmers? They had cupping marks on their shoulders and backs. Cupping is the use of glass or plastic cups, the traditional cup was made of bamboo,  that has had the oxygen removed and a vacuum occurs on the skin, pulling up old stagnant blood sitting below. The stagnant blood is released to the surface of the skin, and the skin is the largest organ in the body, leaving a bruised circle mark.  It is a quick tool to help relieve swelling. Pain and some swelling can be had later as the blood is being dispersed from sitting below in the muscles. After the release, the area can feel like you have worked your muscles the previous day, and a bruise mark can stay two weeks or longer depending on hydration and/or possibly have nothing to show.

I teach how to use the gua sha method daily. It is the simple use of a spoon that moves the lymph and blood under the skin. I teach people how to help themselves. Gua Sha means scrapping. I teach the gentle form of Gua Sha.

The burning of Artemisia-Mugwort is used to unblock stagnation and warm channels. I use this as needed in treatment. Wikipedia has posted this on moxa; Direct non-scarring moxibustion removes the burning moxa before the skin burns enough to scar unless the burning moxa is left on the skin too long. Indirect moxibustion holds a cigar made of moxa near the acupuncture point to heat the skin or holds it on an acupuncture needle inserted in the skin to heat the needle. There is also stick-on moxa. Seed therapy on the ears is a wonderful way to have continued treatment after acupuncture for troubled issues. Acupressure is pressure points on the body pushed hard to stimulate the meridians. Nutrition is the basis of our bodies health. Sometimes we are not aware of the effects of what some foods and drinks we consume do to our health. I share my years of education and experience to inform of what improvements can be used. Orthomolecular therapy is the use of vitamins, minerals and amino acids to aid the body’s ability to heal itself. This information I have learned from studying Dr. Abram Hoffer, Linus Pauling, and Andres Saul Ph.D
